Home & School Association (HSA) Meeting
2002 - 2003 School Year
On 25 September, 2002, President, Bill
Smith, called the first HSA meeting for
the 2002 - 2003 school year to order.
PRESIDENT'S REPORT - President Smith,
welcomed everyone and thanked all that
attended. Mr. Smith announced the top
3 sellers of last year's pizza drive.
Without further ado, President Smith
introduced the new MCSS School Principal.
PRINCIPAL'S REPORT - President, Bill Smith
took great pleasure in introducing Mrs. Cresce as the new principal to MCSS.
Mrs. Crease introduced the faculty and
acknowledged all the wonderful
accomplishments that have been done to the
interior/exterior of the school.
Also, she expressed her dedication to the
school and how she is looking forward to
an exciting upcoming year.
HSA TREASURY REPORT - Treasurers report
was given, which covered the last 5 months
and approved was approved as written.
Copies were provided to HSA members who
attended the meeting.
COMMITTEE REPORTS -
Vegas Night - The next Vegas night is
scheduled for 15 November 2002 at the
Hollywood Fire Department, starting at
6:00pm. Donnie Burch needs
volunteers to deal cards for the Poker
and Black Jack tables. Again this is
a joint venture with Father Andrew White
and Holy Angels Catholic Schools.
Please come support our schools.
Vice President, Burch, asked the HSA for
2K for start up money, which will be
refunded to the school after the event.
A motion to accept his request was
approved by the membership.
2002 Christmas Bazaar -
President Smith put a call out to all
parents to help with the Bazaar this year.
Chairpersons are needed in all areas.
Please call the school or President Smith
if you would like to help out!
Children are welcome to help work the
bazaar to each those precious volunteer
hours and should be given first choice.
Mr. Charlie Eisele, Bazaar Chairman, asked
the HSA for $500.00 in start up money for
the Bazaar. A motion to accept his
request was approved by the membership.
Special thanks goes out to you Mr. Eisele
from the HSA for all of your hard work!
B I N G O! - Please keep up
the good work in working your scheduled
bingo's! Remember, if you cannot
make your scheduled bingo, us subs!
Mr. Smith made a plea to the HSA, if you
are a team caption, please, please, please
make phone calls to remind parents of
their scheduled nights/afternoons.
We cannot function without the income that
bingo generates.
GOOD OF THE ORDER
PE Fund - A line item for PE
fund needs to be asked for in the the
school budget. The new PE teacher is
asking that funds be available for the
purchase of new or to update old
equipment. Also, gym mats need to be
ordered for certain PE activities and for
use of the MCSS Cheerleaders. A
bottom line figure of 3K was agreed by the
HSA.
School Project - The next
school project to be tackled, so to speak,
will be the installation of the A/C unit.
More information will be provided from the
HSA as the project progresses.
WRAP UP - The next
Home and School meeting will be held at
7:00p.m. on 20 November 2002. You
can make a difference, please make every
effort to attend.
