School Advisory Board
"The concept of the school advisory board
is based on a belief in the importance and
power of shared leadership. Parents,
faculty, administration and the entire
community work together to set direction
and determine policy in accordance with
the mission of the school and the policies
of the Board of Education of the
Archdiocese of Washington.
The first and foremost function of the
advisory board is to provide advice and
assistance to the administrative team
(pastor and principal) in the development
of policy.
By "advisory" is meant that board members
offer their experience and expertise to
strengthen the decision making process.
This assistance is provided through the
function of the following committees:
planning, policy development, finance,
public relations/marketing,
development/fund-raising, and evaluation.
