Blue and White Pom

Hey, all you Pelican Fans - Stand up and Clap your Hands!

Blue and White Pom

Proud to Be a Pelican

I am very proud and excited to announce that Mrs. Mary Appleby and I (Cindy Dixon) will be coaching the 2003 - 2004 Basketball Cheerleading Squad.  As new coaches, we look forward to working with each of you and embracing the many challenges and rewards which await us this season.

Calling all Cheerleaders! There are plenty of spaces available on our squad for enthusiastic individuals who want to show that Pelican Spirit!!  Signups will be held in September.  A confirmed date and time will be posted once school returns.

Cheer Camp!  If you are interested in cheering, we would like to encourage you to attend an upcoming cheerleading camp which will be held at Chopticon High School, August 11-14, 2003 from 5-8 p.m.  The cost of the camp will be $30 per cheerleader.

This camp is not mandatory.  However, it will provide an opportunity for the group to get acquainted and work together prior to the start of the season.  Participants of the camp (which include members of the local parochial) will
learn various chants and sidelines cheers, dances and working on stunt technique, transitions and stunt sequencing.  All material will be taught and demonstrated by Chopticon High School cheerleaders.  This is also a great opportunity to meet members of the other school squads.

If you think you may be interested in attending the camp, please let me know by FRIDAY, AUGUST 8.  We must provide a head count to the coordinator by this time.   My sincere apologies for the late notice!!  If transportation is a problem, please let me know and we can make arrangements.

Mrs. Appleby and I are looking forward to meeting and working with each of you this year.  Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.  We hope to see a bunch of new smiling faces with lots of Pelican Spirit!! you!!
