Sports
Students must have a written parental
permission and a current physical
examination on file in the school office
before the student takes part in any
tryout or participates in any way in the
activity on a team basis.
Students in grades 5th, 6th, 7th and 8
are eligible to try out for the MCS
boys/girls basketball teams.
All girls in the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th
grades are eligible for cheerleading;
however, 6th, 7th and 8th grade will
have an opportunity to participate
before the 5th grade students.
In
order to try out and remain on a team,
each student must have or maintain the
following:
-
"C"
Academic Average in all Content Areas
-
No
"F" Grades
Evaluations will be completed in the
middle of the quarter and at the end of
the quarter for ALL members of the
teams. Students are expected to
have the proper attitude and appearance,
as they represent the school.
-
If
a student is placed on academic
probation twice in a season, the
student will be removed from the team.
-
If
the student is placed on internal
suspension, the student will miss one
game and not suit up for the event.
-
If
the student is suspended from school,
the student will miss three games and
will not be permitted to suit up for
those events.
-
Students who have been suspended for
at least one game may not sit on or
near the team bench.
-
Any
student who has been ejected twice
from a game or event during the season
by an official will be removed from
the team for the season and post
season play.
Students who are eligible for team
participation as described above, but
lack a Christian attitude could be
removed from participating in team
events as a representative of MCS.
Parents will be informed prior to this
decision and will be consulted during
the decision making process.
