Volunteer Information
MCSS Volunteer Code of Ethics
Welcome to MCSS. We want to thank you for
giving your time and talents to serve our
school. Your purpose as a volunteer is to
provide services that will supplement the
function of the office, cafeteria, and
instructional staff members.
By
volunteering, you are accepting a
responsibility to support the students and
the school. Please take time to read and
understand the volunteer pledge, as this
should serve as a guide for you conduct
and responsibilities at MCSS.

Signing In
All
volunteers entering the school are asked
to report to the office to sing-in and
wear a badge while on school property.

Volunteers
The
Volunteer Program includes, but is not
limited to the following, Classroom
assistance, library, hot lunch program,
office assistance, playground supervision
assistance, fund raising events, building
and grounds, building and maintenance,
lawn maintenance, homeroom
representatives, field trip supervision,
professional assistance, guest classroom
speakers, occupational lectures in the
classroom, career orientation
presentations. Volunteers at MCS
represent the lifeline for our total
school operations. Families are
required to perform 30 hours of volunteer
support for Mother Catherine Spalding
School.

Homeroom Representatives
Each
grade has a Homeroom Representative. More
than one is encouraged and is often
needed. The following is a list of duties
Homeroom Representatives are generally
asked to do:

Help organize homeroom activities (field
trips, picnics and parties)

Call Class Volunteers for school
luncheons, activities supplementing the
curriculum.

Call Volunteers for refreshments for
Home and School Association meetings.

Call parents to communicate messages
when necessary.
