Leo
Club

A
Little Bit of History - by: Ashton
Kenney
There are 5,584 Leo
clubs, 139,600 Leo members, and Leo
clubs in 139 nations. Leo Clubs
all over the world have done many
outstanding service projects. An
example is money raised by the Oslo Rustad Leos in Norway, were donated to:
a cleft palate surgery for a
six-year-old girl in Bangladesh, a camp
for physically impaired children, a home
for street children in Honduras,
refugees in Kosovo and AIDS orphans in
St. Petersburg, Russia.
The meaning of the word Leo. Leo
stands for:
-
Leadership -
Leos develop skills as organizers,
time managers, and motivators of their
peers.
-
Experience -
Leos learn the importance of
cooperation through the performance of
community service.
-
Opportunity
- Membership in a Leo club provides
young people with a chance to excel,
to develop character traits, and to
receive recognition for their
contributions to the community.
I
hope as Leos, we can fulfill these
duties.
